Robert Gorter, MD, PhD, used to give a two-weekend 3 units seminar on anthroposophical health at San Francisco State University twice a year: traditionally in February and in September.

Robert Gorter had organized these seminars on Anthroposophic Health Studies at San Francisco State University in such a way that about 50% of the time Robert Gorter would lecture and that about 50% of the time the students were involved in practical applications or exercises. Here, an Anthroposophic nurse from the Netherlands, Wiep de Vries, explains how to prepare a wrap or compress with various plants and herbal extracts. These seminars were very lively and students loved to learn and then experience the effects on themselves..

Robert Gorter showed his hospitality again and again by serving tea and dinner at the open fire place in his Victorian house in San Francisco after a long day seminar on Anthroposophic Health Studies at San Francisco State University. Usually, the faculty would meet for late evening dinners at the house of Robert Gorter to look back on the day and make plans for the next day.
